September 2023 Expansion Update
Our new office and training room addition is quickly taking shape. MEP rough-ins are almost complete with RTUs sitting on the roof. Drywall, exterior EIFS, and interior finishes are starting, so our highly anticipated move-in is fast approaching. We can’t wait to see the finished facility and start utilizing it with our employees.

Today we want to spotlight one of our Service Field Supervisors, Sam Brown! Sam started with us back in 2006 as an HVAC Technician’s Helper and has been invaluable to our team ever since. He was first drawn to the HVAC trade after speaking with an instructor at a career day event and enjoys the problem-solving aspect of the job. His favorite part is getting to work on different projects and pushing himself to learn new things with each task.

Over three thousand students attended this year’s Worlds of Work event at Shenandoah University and we were so excited to participate in the event! Worlds of Work allows middle school-aged students to visit and interact with local businesses and public services to explore available career paths. The expo is designed to be a fun and interactive way for them to gather information about skills and education required for careers in industries they may wish to pursue. This event in particular saw students attend from Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Warren counties, as well as the City of Winchester.

Fall protection was the highlight of our training earlier this month as we hosted another Safety Breakfast and Learn event in Mt. Crawford. Thank you to all the RBI employees who came out and participated. We are proud to continue hosting these events to help reinforce safe work habits.

The building will soon be dried in before starting on interior finishes. Just a few more months before we hope to open the space to our employees!

Happy retirement wishes go out to long-time RBI team member, Richard (Peedle) Wood! Peedle recently retired after working with RBI for 25 years. Throughout his career, he has worked side-by-side with almost every employee in the field, always giving 100% every day. Lunch breaks with Peedle could boost the morale of an entire job site, and his stories were shared by all. Peedle also coined lots of new words over the years that we lovingly referred to as Peedleisms. Some of our favorites are, “commalogical” which translates to the most practical way to do something, and “cosha’’ which means OSHA compliant.
